“The structure of perversion, strictly speaking, is an inverted effect of fantasy. It is the subject who determines himself as an object, in his encounter with subjective division” Lacan (1973). In coming to an understanding of neurotic fantasy, the perverse act remains a point of reference, a reference to the name-of-the-father and what it is that the subject does with this. In this seminar, we will engage a close reading of chapter 4 of “Jouissance & the sexual reality of the (two) unconscious” (Restivo, 2013).
